He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Mechanical Engineering from Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2013, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea, in 2015 and 2018, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Automotive Engineering at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. Prior to this, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan from 2018 to 2020 and as an Associate Professor at Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea from March 2020 to August 2024. His research interests include autonomous vehicle modeling and control, energy-efficient control of electric vehicles, reinforcement learning, and optimal control theory and its applications.
